Editorial Policy

Vitamin Hippo is an independent men's healthy-aging publication built around a simple distinction: personal experience is personal experience, manufacturer marketing is a claim, and published evidence is evidence. The site aims to make those categories obvious to readers.

How topics are chosen

Articles are selected because they answer practical questions relevant to men navigating strength, recovery, sleep, hormones, body composition, sexual wellness, supplements and everyday healthy-aging habits. Some topics begin with search demand; others begin with something Tim Lekach has personally tried, noticed or wanted to understand better. Search demand does not determine the conclusion.

First-hand experience

When Tim has personally used a product, performed an exercise or followed a routine, Vitamin Hippo may include that experience and original photography where available. First-hand observations are identified as personal experience and are not presented as proof that every reader will get the same result.

Evidence and sourcing

For factual health and science claims, Vitamin Hippo prefers primary research, systematic reviews, academic sources, government resources and established medical or professional organizations when they are appropriate to the question. Secondary sources may be used for context or plain-language explanation. Sources are linked so readers can examine them directly.

Manufacturer claims

Product manufacturers are useful sources for current ingredients, specifications, directions, prices and guarantees, but their efficacy claims are not treated as independent evidence. Where a statement comes from a manufacturer, the article should make that context clear.

Reviews and commercial relationships

A product can appear on Vitamin Hippo whether or not an affiliate relationship exists. Affiliate compensation does not convert a manufacturer claim into evidence and does not guarantee a positive conclusion. Relevant commercial relationships are disclosed. See the Affiliate Disclosure.

Health claims and uncertainty

Vitamin Hippo avoids presenting limited or mixed evidence as settled fact. When evidence is uncertain, preliminary or conflicting, the article should say so. Personal anecdotes are not used as substitutes for clinical evidence.

Corrections and updates

Articles may be revised when evidence changes, products are reformulated, links become outdated, factual errors are identified or a guide can be made materially more useful. Significant updates should preserve the article's purpose rather than disguising unrelated content as a refresh.

Corrections

If you believe an article contains a factual error or an unclear distinction between evidence, opinion and personal experience, please use the public author/contact links on the About page to flag it for review.
